Dearest all
Just a quick note to say we've been thinking of you. Since today is day number five of our cycle tour and we haven't written yet a scratch here you may have felt abandoned. But please rest gently knowing we all miss all of you terrifically. We've been in the shadows of mountains--real and figuratively (the mountain that is us)--and have not had the connectivity or wherewithal to upload the many spools of film we've captured or to voice the songs and poems and stories we've collected along the route.

Thanks for the photos on your migration! I knew those were Ryan's toes when I saw them and what they were doing! I can pick up things with my toes and so can Melissa- I think it's hereditary! Loved Brad's tiara!

Oh the joy of waking up to foggy Santa Cruz fresh air, having some water, stretching a little, and then finding yourself writing on the blog with a fellow rider sitting on your buns. Feels good, you know, those muscles like a little extra attention after long days in the saddle.
Pretty much all I can say is THE JOY, THE JOY!
And an image for you: Yesterday I took off earliest because I am the slowest, and I stayed in front most of the day, riding solo along the stunning Great Highway One. On a downhill, I noticed the highway shoulder had sand spilling into it. Two seconds later my eyes were blasted with a glorious vision of rainbow colored windsurfer sails blowing all over the wind-blown waves, on teal and indigo water.
This is Life!!!
